This work is one of roots and longing critically inspired by my experience as black, American and sensitive. To date, my research involves the study of plants (i.e. cash crops such as coffee, cotton, indigo and tobacco), genealogical search and the Mississippi River System. Through the making of objects, installation and performance I contemplate ideas of memorial and healing.
