SUNGJAE LEE is a multidisciplinary artist who probes the relationship between societal fringes and the center through performance, installation, text, and video. His current practice discusses his personal desire/fetish or resistance toward images of masculinity through a lens of Asian identity, Catholic rituals, and architecture. He received his MFA and BFA in Sculpture from Seoul National University. He has presented his works globally, including at the Seoul Museum of Art, Art Sonje Center (Korea), Galleri CC, KHM gallery (Sweden), Evanston Art Center, Links Hall, and Zimmerli Art Museum (USA). He has recently performed at the “New Masculinities Festival” at the LGBT Center and “ITINERANT Performance Art Festival” at Last Frontier (NYC).
