I am a Chicago-based artist, born in Táchira, Venezuela. I first moved to U. S. in 2007 and lived in Miami, Florida for about four years. In 2011, I transferred to the School of the Art Institute of Chicago where I graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. Currently, I am a second-year graduate student in the MFA program at SAIC.
I construct oil paintings that often develop interdependently as I consider myself a receptacle of images, phrases, and feelings. My intent is to produce images that possess an ability to expand and enrich the visual landscape and convey an intellectual and emotional complex at a specific moment in time. It is through the development of fanciful perspectives, curious environments, hard edges and grids that my work best explores what one of my favorite poets, Marianne Moore, best describes as “Neatness of Finish! Neatness of Finish!”
