Vicente is a trans, first generation Mexican-American. He was born on the border of the United States and Mexico to an immigrant mother and occupies a divergent space in American culture. Drawing from personal narrative, he explores landscapes of constructed normativities, ethnocentrism, and privilege as a way of defining and redefining issues that subsist within marginalized identities.
Currently, he is interested in queer cruising rituals (both in the digital and physical spaces) and bodily language as a way of investigating potentialities of sex, sexuality and gender outside of rooted binaries.

“Queerness is not here yet. Queerness is an identity. Put another way, we are not yet queer. We may never touch queerness, but we can feel it as the warm illumination of a horizon imbued with potentiality.” – José Esteban Muñoz
