We are excited to present\u00a0Translations & Transmutations<\/a><\/em>, in conjunction with Video Data Bank<\/a>, featuring the work of\u00a0artist Sky Hopinka<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Hopinka, a member of the Ho-Chunk Nation of Wisconsin and descendent of the Pechanga Band of Luise\u00f1o Mission Indians, creates sublime polyrhythmic\u00a0films that draw upon his history and identity, addressing ideas of homeland, language, and landscape.<\/p>\n

In addition to this week’s screening, Hopinka’s short films will be featured in the 2017 Whitney Biennial opening this month in New York.
