Through a variety of means and perspectives, these works expand and complicate systems of communication, particularly in regard to film and video, while examining the practices (and systemic failings) of accessibility and accommodations.\u00a0This program is organized in the spirit of Mitchell and Snyder\u2019s insistence\u00a0that disability subjectivities \u201care not just characterized by socially imposed restrictions, but productively create new forms of embodied knowledge and collective consciousness\u201d (<em>Biopolitics of Disability,<\/em>\u00a0UMichigan Press, 2015). Program includes:\u00a0<em>Classified Digits<\/em>\u00a0(Christine Sun Kim and Thomas Mader, 2016);\u00a0<em>Untitled Conversation (Salerno\u2019s Pizza)\u00a0(<\/em>Joseph Grigely, 2004);\u00a0<em>\u00a0Vital Signs: Crip Culture Talks Back<\/em>\u00a0(Sharon Snyder and David Mitchell, 1995, excerpt);\u00a0<em>Captioned: Channel Surfing<\/em>\u00a0(Liza Sylvestre, 2017);\u00a0<em>Invisible Man (<\/em>Leroy Moore Jr., 2018); and\u00a0<em>A Recipe for Disaster<\/em>\u00a0(Carolyn Lazard, 2018).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><em>Multiple artists, 1995\u20132018, USA, 72 minutes, open captions<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Christine Sun Kim and Thomas Mader&#8217;s\u00a0Classified Digits\u00a0(2016) and Joseph Grigely&#8217;s\u00a0Untitled (Salerno&#8217;s Pizza)\u00a0<\/em><em>(2004) include audio descriptions.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>This program is part of\u00a0<em>This Set of Actions is a Mirror,<\/em>\u00a0a multipart program exploring expressions of disability culture and politics in artists\u2019 moving images.
