saic.edu\/exhibitions<\/b><\/a><\/p>\n The School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) is proud to host the 2015 Architecture, Interior Architecture, and Designed Objects (AIADO) and Fashion exhibition,\u00a0Coordinates\u00a0<\/i>http:\/\/sites.saic.edu\/coordinates2015\/<\/a>, as well as the Post-Baccalaureate Fashion Exhibition.<\/p>\n Coordinates\u00a0<\/i>features 41 works by graduating design students in the graduate programs: Master of Design in Designed Objects; Master of Design in Fashion, Body and Garment; Master of Architecture with an Emphasis in Interior Architecture; and Master of Architecture.<\/p>\n A desire to situate oneself materializes between 28 South Wabash and the 12th floor of the Sullivan Center, the two nodes of SAIC\u2019s 2015 Design Show. Coordinates celebrates the positions of 41 students whose work explores where we are in space and time.<\/p>\n For some, the need to locate oneself is lyrical, such as a display of garments stiffened in resin and wax, which solidifies the ambulations of a specific moment. For others, self-definition emerges from a conversation between history, material, and function: a redefinition of intergenerational relationships through a contemporized writers\u2019 residency in Thoreau\u2019s cabin at Walden Pond. Yet for others, situating oneself is an act of mathematical orientation, reached in one project, through the development of navigational instruments inspired by sextants and sundials.<\/p>\n The need to answer the question: Where are we? Resonates between the two locations of this exhibition.
