When exhibitions are open, SAIC Galleries visiting hours are
Mondays–Saturdays 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.*
Admission is free.
*Galleries will be closed Monday, September 5, for Labor Day, and November 23-27, for Thanksgiving break.
Appointments are not required, but are encouraged. Please book an appointment in advance.
SAIC is following all guidelines from the Chicago Department of Public Health, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and other local and national health authorities. We have practices in place to mitigate the spread of COVID-19:
- To protect the health of those both on and off campus, all visitors to SAIC Galleries, including SAIC students, faculty, and staff; families and friends of exhibiting artists; and the general public, must abide by our shared responsibilities, which require everyone on SAIC’s campus to monitor their health, maintain physical distance, and practice good hygiene.
- The COVID-19 primary vaccination series is required for visitors to SAIC Galleries.
- Face masks are optional in the SAIC Galleries.**
- Anyone feeling unwell should postpone their visit for another time.
Class and Department Visits to the SAIC Galleries
Please use the appointment link below to request a class or group visit. You will be asked to provide a class roster or group list as well as the names of any exhibiting artists whose work you plan to specifically view. If you have any special requests, please use the notes section of the form to inform gallery staff. Visit requests will be confirmed via email by gallery staff within three days of submitting this request.
