“Relics of Today”
Concept | My concept is inspired by the political turmoil that Turkey has been going through for quite some time. I intend to show the disparity between what was once turkey and my experiences as a young child there, and what it is now. My garment aims to capture the remnants and relics of the past with mention of today’s political climate, and how we must ascertain a different outcome for our country.
Bio | Alexandra Avery creates forms which use influence from the past to the contemporary. As an artist she’s uses her background in sculpture, ceramics, music and athletics to inform her design decisions. Compelled by themes pertaining to; psychology, movement, dynamics within culture, and self vs world, she aims to create forms with multi-dimensional representation.
