“Messenger No. 1”

Concept | When an American cowboy falls in love with an alien of a cold planet far away, love letters must be sent. The garment is designed for the messenger who must navigate the two polar opposite worlds. Through this narrative I explore the polarization, the pro vs. the anti, the peace vs. the war, the logic vs. the instinct, occurring within our real world.

Bio | I am from Albuquerque, New Mexico. I approach design as an investigative process. While much of the formal qualities arise from my eagerness to have fun and approach art with humor and playfulness, my research acts as a backbone. Beyond this, I seek transparency in a lot of facets of my work. Materially, I am interested in what can be seen or revealed beneath. My process is how I seek lucidity personally as an artist. This overlap between my material choices and my process contributes to my concepts of distance, opposing forces, and alienation.
