“Being And Becoming”
Concept | Identity is a topic where many people have wondered, and mixed identity is an interesting one. As an international student, I find it is hard to define my personal identity. When flying in between countries, the personal identity often begins to be driven in to a personal identity crisis, and this is my specialty.
Bio | Junyi Li is a fashion designer who was born and raised in Beijing, China. She moved to the U.S. since high school. Her interest in fashion began with her experience of growing up next to fashion boutiques. Junyi realized how different styles of fashion fitted in different personalities of people. She realized that a great design can make a person look more attractive and interesting. In Junyi Li’s own practice, she liked to incorporate her own background with mixed culture experience and science. Through the process of doing the projects, she explored on materials, shapes, and structures, which also enabled her to have deeper understanding on her personal identity.
