Bio | I design clothes with the intention of changing how people perceive gender identity. I want to challenge the boundaries of menswear and womenswear and what is considered beautiful and acceptable for different people to wear. I look for ways that materials, silhouette, and color represent the gender binary and combine and rework these design elements to create garments that are not intended for a specific gender but for all identities.

“Heaven is empty and all the angels are here”

Concept | For this collection I wanted to portray trans and gender non-conforming people as beautiful angels to contradict the belief that it’s sinful to identify or present differently than one’s assigned sex. I researched depictions of God and religious figures in Christianity to inform my silhouettes and combined drapery from renaissance art with a color palette and materials that represent and manipulate contemporary associations of gender in clothing.
