“In My Blood”
Concept | My concept is based off my experiences with my autoimmune disease Pernicious Anemia. This disease means that my body does not absorb Vitamin B-12 properly. I have experienced excessive weight loss, dizziness, chest pains, and way too much potential for an early death. With these garments I wanted to not only show my symptoms but include my way of not only protecting myself but also dealing with this life long disease.
Bio | Mimi Breves is a young fashion designer from the Washington D.C. area. Majoring in fashion design has always been the plan for Mimi, even at a young age. Through the creation of different textiles and shapes she aims to tell different stories through her designs. She feels that telling stories is an important part of being human. These designs often combine sportswear influences with whimsical touches.
