“The Fountain of the Great Lakes”

Concept | This piece is my reinterpretation of The Fountain of the Great Lakes by Lorado Taft. Through this piece I am merging the ethereal imagery of the women and the flowing body of water with the massive scale and heavy bodied bronze material that is used to depict them. The tension that is held between the two is what makes it as powerful and imposing as it is. In this piece I explore how these qualities effect my how see this fountain and the world around us.
