Bio | LaChall has a diverse and creative background. Before enrolling as a Graduate student at SAIC, she used the past eight years to create costumes for Boston theaters, operas and dance companies. She has been a fashion and art educator for children, teens and adults. She also co-founded Secret Ships, a fashion and home retail business specializing in designs that used hand sourced global textiles. All of these experiences have helped her to develop her sewing and design skills as well as to find the direction of her voice.
LaChall’s multi disciplinary work combines self portrait, fashion, textile design, photography, performance and sound. She creates fashion collections, installations, objects and experiences. Her work vocalizes her personal, social and political concerns.
