“Live Like Moss”

Concept | I am seeking to understand the essence of life. From the perspective of biology, human beings share the same significance and fragility with all other creatures in the universe. My collection is inspired by moss, inconspicuous little lives growing in the dark corner without any kind of care. Even though they lack of attention, they grow any way. The contrast of the way they are so tiny and the way they are so strong shocked me deeply. I used a Chinese character “渺” which means subtle and insignificant to make the fundamental patterns for the three looks. I apply yarns and furry fabric to depict the flourish. People who are considered as low-end should live like moss, no matter what, as long as you can breathe, just breathe and survive.

Bio | Ning Yang mimics the subtle way in which plants grow applying a dynamic concept towards garments to express a way of living. Ning has always been attracted by those tiny little insignificant changes from a intimate perspective that shows the basic way of lives forms. With a degree in landscape architecture in Nanjing Agricultural University, Ning brings an awareness of an insinuate commonness between plants and human beings that the relationships each serves in ecosystem and society. Ning wants to use her garments to express her living attitude to live with flow in a empathy, respectful and undeliverately way.
