“I’ll Never Forget the Day I Was Born”
Concept | This collection seeks to articulate a human desire to immortalize oneself through observation of garment and object as documents of a temporary existence. This look was inspired by the practice of wearing a precious garment only once for presumed milestone events in a life, such as prom or the SAIC fashion show
Bio | My interest in fashion is founded in its ability to communicate between people on an everyday basis. I intend to use elements of common dress and everyday life to maintain an inclusive conversation, while further tweaking these forms to initiate reflection. I observe cloth as a container for sentiment. I’m interested in the relationship between the individual and the whole and where fashion absorbs this narrative as a means of self expression through a mass produced form.
