I enjoy making things walk into someone else’s mind.

Bona Chun is a multidisciplinary artist who explores dimensions of human and non-human life with curiosity and empathy. Growing up in a big traditional family, she observed different phases in human life and felt that each phase should be celebrated. The ordinary components of life -such as birth, aging, sickness, death, happiness, anger, love, and joy- are the key themes of her works. Bona’s goal is to design intuitive and sustainable objects that help people lead better lives no matter what obstacles they encounter. Her recent works include The Eternal Promise of Love, a disposable wedding ring package; Saving the Heartbeat, a device that records parents’ heartbeat in the incubators for premature babies to help them feel more comfortable at the hospital; Conversation’, a plate set and comfort food designed for the customers who visit this imaginary restaurant that only opens on rainy days. She has recently completed Dama, a collection of furniture and homewares made with hanji, authentic Korean mulberry papers; and I Invite You to My Funeral, an anonymous communication device for assisted suicide decision making process.
