Concept
I started to pay attention to Han Chinese’s traditional costume since I was in middle school. Hanfu (Name of Han ethnic’s traditional costume.) was not popular at all back then. But recent years there is a trend in Chi na that people started to become interested in their traditional costume. More and more people would like to wear traditional costume in daily life.
What I’m doing in this project, is trying a new way to play with the China element. I choose Ming Dynasty specifically and reconstruct the traditional pattern while adding my own characteristics to them and create something that engage with China element on the construction aspect.
