LEYANG LI

1st Year Sophomore Design & Construction

For this project, I want to do something more personal and innovative. Thus I changed my whole process: sketch first, concept development next. As I ‘threw’ away those complicated thoughts, I realized this art making process is like what I used to do when I was a child. I just drew down whatever popped into my mind and name them or create a story afterwards. Not, surprising, all my sketches reflect a sense of children’s nature. They are weird, random, creative, and interesting. I want to keep such characteristics in my final looks to show that no matter how old we are, how much we grow, the children’s nature is still inside each one of us, and it is worthy to be treasured.
Those miracle creatures popped in my mind become the initial idea of this project, childlike and whimsical. Let’s welcome to Li’s Garden.
