1st Year Sophomore Design & Construction

My practice expands hand in hand with my sense of self. I try on new selves and pick up new skills, each time stepping into a more layered personhood. My projects create a sort of chronological record of my own growth through time. Often, my art is an outlet to express my subconscious thoughts; once they have become something physical I can begin to put actual words to the experience. I explore ideas and questions about spirituality, home, comfort, and death. While I see my work as a narrative of my internal self, I still leave blank space in explanations and open ended ideas in projects that allow the viewer to apply the concepts explored in the piece to their own experience. They use my art to write their own story, a constant collaboration every time someone interacts with my work.
