In this project, I was inspired by the winter blossoms. Like what Chinese poems always praise them as gritty and strong, surviving from the freezing winter. I focused on one special winter blossom called “Mulan”. Like the famous female character Mulan, they both have the great strength inside the “small” body. Then I started to look at the terra cotta warriors and their armors, which was made of clays but survived for thousands of years. I liked the comparison between the fragility and the toughness, the softness and hardness, and how they hide their weakness and show the great power.
