Double Mx. Ectomy (pronounced double mastectomy) is a genderqueer drag and fibers artist from NYC. Their work celebrates queerness and gender nonconformity through their outlandish garments, colorful makeup, and joyful performances. The garment featured in these photos was hand knitted and crocheted freehand by Mx. Ectomy and is entitled “Crobussy.”

Double Mx. Ectomy is an interdisciplinary artist and the fairy-clown drag thing of NYC and Chicago. Their passions include celebrating transness, spreading queer joy, and making the art of drag accessible to all ages. In the warmer months they can be found hosting all-ages drag shows in parks and gardens around NYC, and in the colder months, experimenting with new art mediums combined with their drag in Chicago.
