Approaching the similarities between persephone’s relationship with pomegranate seeds and prescription medications. Shown through devictimizing the Greek myth of persephone. Having grown up in the world of the gods and goddesses she knew better than to eat in the underworld. Viewing her without the victim lens you can see she consciously made the decision to eat the 7 pomegranate seeds in the underworld knowing it would supersede any rulings and she could escape her predetermined fate through this loophole. Essentially giving up a sense of control to gain greater control overall. This connects beautifly to humans relationship with prescription medication where you have to give up certain controles to gain a better quality of life. It is a conscious decision we make where we accept the downsides because of the relife it gives to other parts of life.
