I’ve always been interested in space because of how vast it is and in this project I realized that I view chandeliers as sort of a man-made parallel to space. Both contain light, illusions of depth, and a sense of grandness. The obvious difference being that chandeliers are manmade and highly planned, calculated, and confined by gravity. This garment and collection was a way to think about where stars and chandeliers converge formally and then furthermore how that could relate to and push away from the body when translated to apparel.
