I look forward to encounter, along with you,<br \/>\nour students\u2019 brilliant media works over the course of the next four evenings at the Gene Siskel<br \/>\nFilm Center. For our students, the festival is a unique opportunity to see their work shine in a<br \/>\nstate-of-the art facility and to share the fruits of their labor with an engaged audience.<\/p>\n<p>Curated by Emily Eddy and Jesse Malmed, two of Chicago\u2019s most dynamic and fearless media<br \/>\narts programmers, this year\u2019s festival brings to the screen a wide range of genres and practices:<br \/>\ndaring experimental works, ambitious feature films, intimate video essays, hypnotic<br \/>\nsoundscapes and rebellious animation shorts. We are proud to celebrate the diverse voices at<br \/>\nthe heart of our community. Our festival is an international forum for emerging artists from<br \/>\naround the globe.<\/p>\n<p>Media artists have a great responsibility today. They provide us with alternative ways of looking<br \/>\nand understanding the world we live in. They have the ability to transform and enhance<br \/>\nperception. Tickets are complimentary and will be available each day at the box office, which opens one hour before the first program of the day. Please check program listings for specific showtimes.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><i>Presented by the Department of Exhibitions and Exhibition Studies in collaboration with the Film, Video, New Media, and Animation Department, the Sound Department, and the Gene Siskel Film Center. Special thanks to Casey Puccini, our Alumni Producer,<\/i> <i>who has worked tirelessly for the past six months preparing guidelines, managing schedules, and meeting with our students.
