I was born in Soviet Russia, relocated to Israel at a young age and consequently moved to the USA for my Graduate studies. My work reflects on these migrations and investigates concepts pertaining to fragmented identities and estrangement. Through video installation, I speak from a vulnerable, hyper-intimate point of view. I inquire into questions on gender, performativity, sexuality, mutable identities and the quest for joy. My own body and the bodies of others—naked, painted, in elaborate costume—navigate magical settings that reveal new, buzzing exchanges and trajectories borne of contiguities between flesh, material, exotic or unfamiliar locations and imagined spaces.
