As an artist who explores chaos, Boowon has developed her artistic voice through limitless materials and strategies. She layers a variety of colors and materials, and the layers begin to form a compelling jumble that becomes her foundational form, and a sculptural wearable garment. Her vision is for each object her hands touch to become a material that evolves intuitively into unique fabric swatches. Her hands guide these materials spontaneously, making as she sees and creates, instead of following a plan conceived prior to the creation. The final fabric design reflects this improvised process, literally the creation of chaos. Boowon embrace embraces sensitive handmade processes and limitless possibilities of technological innovation. All these methods enable her to create wild multi-dimensional textures as she recycles man-made detritus. The works originate from within. Concerns from personal everyday life are key themes that she explores through her process. Her intention is for the work to resonate with her audience.
