Chelsea Emuakhagbon

Master of Fine Arts in Studio, Photography

Chelsea Emuakhagbon is an artist whose work explores and uses conceptual ideas of home to trace lost and unknown histories of immigrant and migrant cultures.

This project began (physically) in Dallas, Texas while making images of her first-generation family members and documenting her uncle’s migration journey from Nigeria to Japan. The project was later undone in Japan while further researching her uncle’s journey, as well as the ‘segaiha’ pattern depicted.
