Chris Han

Master of Fine Arts in Studio, Sound

Chris Han is a multimedia artist mainly using sculpture, sound, and video as his main medium. He focusses on the physical properties of everyday objects by combining and dismantling them in various relationships. In this regard, passive objects he arranges are in a system in which they interact with the environment of the space, becoming active objects criticizing their social convention.

Chris graduated from the Department of Sculpture at Seoul National University and studied in the graduate MFA sound program at SAIC. He first showed kinetic sculptures at Culture Station Seoul 284 in 2013, and has participated in various group exhibitions from galleries to museums. He expanded his practice by participating in a sound performance event (wave form) held in Chicago in 2018 and 2019.
