Jenna Grotelueschen is a California based artist working between disciplines. Projects often traverse writing, painting, photography, video, and increasingly, the digital landscape. Her primary concern is working responsively. The interrelation between mind, body, and its environ anchors ranging inquiry. Notes on Shifting Grounds and its related paintings are ongoing.
Recent projects include Portals_Corners_Dashes and related Dis paintings. These explore the experience and poetics of space. Dis was born out of considering the visual-spatial experience of her father, who has Posterior Cortical Atrophy. Portals_Corners_Dashes artist book and video iteration together intertwine with ideas behind Dis: consciousness, cognitive pathways, navigation of space, and other constellated topics.
She received her undergraduate education at Westmont College in California and generous support from the Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation. Her work is held in private art collections and at Westmont College.
