As a filmmaker, I explore the role of the investigator who tackles issues of disappearance and expatriation.
The following material is a scrapbook of The Dependents, a feature length project that delves into my own personal history in order to uncover the broader themes of transient lives and immigration as they pertain to gender, occupation, and place of birth. In particular, I investigate in it the sense of loss of place as experienced by an overseas Immigration Officer, my father, and by his Latin American wife, my mother, who experiences emigration firsthand.
