Andrew Sokol is a multidisciplinary artist currently based in Chicago, Illinois. In their practice, they explore personal narratives related to luxury, commodity, value, identity, and belonging through alternative/found materials. Born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Andrew has attended Central Saint Martins and received their BFA from Pratt Institute and will graduate with an MFA in Fiber and Material Studies from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago May 2022. A self proclaimed Voluptuary devoted to the pursuit of sensual delights — two core questions they ask are: Is the visual language of luxury always a facade? Is it possible to critique the capitalist structure while embodying the glamour it sold you?
