My current work explores psychological interior spaces that are based on my lived experiences. The compositions involve elements from both portraiture and landscape painting, but hover in a space between. These paintings document observations made in the spaces I’ve spent significant time (e.g., the studio, a billiards room, my backyard, the internet). Deliberate decisions are made to focus on certain areas or objects and decisions are made to ignore others.
My paintings are machines that make machines and those machines make more machines.
