As a painter working with AI, Rebecca’s work spans a variety of mediums and methods. Her abstract paintings tend toward the organic, characterized by expressive color and baroque compositions and featuring molecular, fluid, and constellation-like forms. While the influence behind her work constantly evolves, she continues to be inspired by biology and botany and works within a balance of intuition and structure.

Within the last three years or so, her work began to evolve significantly in response to her engagement with machine learning. In addition to her painting practice, she is developing a network of accessible resources and written analysis concerning the intersection between art and AI. Meanwhile, she is performing and documenting her own practice of curiosity, inquiry, and transparency as she considers how artists might re-imagine and reinvent the future of AI – one in which it is an accessible and comprehensible tool guided by society and not solely by a few.
