Driven by the potential of deep intuitive nature of a human being, Aashina Singh is an MFA candidate in Design for Emerging Technologies at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Transitioning from Architecture (B.Arch., University School of Architecture & Planning, Delhi) and athletics to technology, her work navigates the confluence of emotion, technology and spatial design. Her work centers on Phy-gital gaming–melding interaction with digital worlds to interrogate our social ideas surrounding “negative emotions.” Utilizing neuro- and bio-feedback, her research aims to gain tangible insights on the critical role of bodily engagement, emotional experiences and its impact on cognitive processes. by asking questions of how spatial design and emerging technologies can facilitate a more nuanced understanding of our emotional landscape. Singh’s work challenges traditional narratives and seeks to investigate engagement in interactive design for new pathways for empathy and understanding within digital and physical spaces.
