Chloe Cusimano

Low-Residency Master of Fine Arts Degree

Chloe Cusimano (b. 1996, Akron, OH) is an LA-based interdisciplinary artist and educator melding together photography and textiles. They pursue self-portraiture as a process of documenting their body and use collage, weaving, and quilting as mediums to dissect + reconstruct their body into whole images and objects. Through an investigation of reconfiguration, Cusimano engages with “queer play” which they define as being non-reflective of idealistic, heteronormative aesthetics and values. Collectively their artworks take form as an archive of the steps that it takes to get to an always unfinished finished state.
