Cindy B. Hernández Contreras is an interdisciplinary artist currently conferring an MFA in Photography at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Born and raised in Los Angeles, currently based in Chicago. She is an alumna from the University of California in Santa Cruz where she conferred a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art and holds a second degree in Latin American & Latino Studies. Her current work is heartened through Salvadoran diasporic experiences, histories, collective memories, inherited traumas, and archival research.
