Ethan Anderson is a Chicago based artist who uses fantasy worlds, technical precision, and humor to make narrative and character driven animations, concept art, and sculptures. His goal is to reach people’s imagination, even if it is only to graze the surface of memories secreted away, to remind them of the elation that creativity has the power to give you and to evoke that unnamable thing that made us so alive as children.

Guest From Elsewhere is the culmination of all of my work at SAIC. The project puts everything I know, love, and am skilled at into one piece. Experimentation of materials and processes for puppet animation was as you can imagine very extensive. I created my own face replacement technology as well as building my own ball jointed metal skeletons, wooden and foam sets, animation stages, camera and lighting testing, and an absurd amount of animating time. I am extremely proud of the finished short film and I hope it brings you as much joy as it brought me.
