Master of Fine Arts in Studio, Visual Communication Design (Graphic Design)

My work is centered around processing memory and identity through depths of color. I have a heavy focus on insects and the environment, often exploring the human condition and how it can relate to that of bugs’ lives. Much of my work is colored pencil and gouache children’s illustration, using charming insect-monsters to carry and deliver my narratives. Exploration of the self is achieved through separating and rejoining color layers of the past, present, and future; different combinations of selves make beautiful layered colors. I am an educator and a storyteller, and seek to make joyful work that is accessible to all.
