Nicola Florimbi received her BFA from Otis College of art and design and is currently completing her MFA at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Her work explores power dynamics between people, specifically between parent and child as well as teacher and student. By taking pre-existing images from art history and inserting her own subjectivity Nicola aims to re-contextualize a history of images that overlooks violence hiding in plain site.
