Olivia Durham

Master of Fine Arts in Studio, Painting and Drawing

Olivia Durham is a mixed media painter from Denver, CO currently based in Chicago, IL. Olivia received a BA in Studio Art and a minor in Art History from Denison University, as well as a post baccalaureate degree from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago where she is currently pursuing an MFA in Painting and Drawing. Her practice involves a general focus on existentialism and the human condition through obscured renderings of the figure through themes of the uncanny, distortion, isolation, discomfort, energy, and motion. Evolving from a process of collecting images from digital and printed archives, her work often explores the effects of images and visual stimulation as both physical and conceptual material in relationship to painting and the human psyche at large.
