Quy Do (b.1994) is a Vietnamese artist living in Hanoi. He graduated from Vietnam University of Fine Arts in 2020, and is currently pursuing an MFA at SAIC. His artworks are often playful and satirical. Using diverse materials in his practice, his works pose questions to himself about his own life experiences in the United States.
Americanize, 2020, Performance with wooden cart
I wrote Vietnamese folk songs and proverbs on paper and then placed them on a wooden cart. This cart was then towed by me on the streets of Chicago every day. The content written on those pieces of paper was erased by the blue and red marker hanging inside the cart.
