Rebecca Morrello

Low-Residency Master of Fine Arts Degree

Rebecca Morrello (b. 1996, Southern FL) is a multidisciplinary artist working in soft sculpture and poetics. Her practice consists of fabricating visceral sculptures that manifest how certain behaviors and patterns are passed down through generations. The work, comprised mainly of textiles with additions of plaster and wood, emphasizes how those occurrences ingrain themselves into the body and mind. Her pieces reflect her autobiography, heavily influenced by years of familial observations.

She studied photography and imaging at Ringling College of Art and Design, Creative Practices at the International Center of Photography, and is a 2024 Low-Residency MFA Candidate at the School of the Art Institute in Chicago with a new focus on sculptural mediums. She currently lives in Chicago, IL.
