I (b. India, 1997) am an interdisciplinary artist exploring fibers, sculpture, installation and photography. My work explores the nature of mending, healing and finding one self in that journey. I create textiles, embroidery and manipulate fibers to form a space to encounter and accept my emotions. Each stitch taken and each yarn placed weaves as my language. My practice speaks to me as if I am speaking to my inner child. Growing up in a domestic abusive environment, pain coexisted with comfort, absence with love. This conflict of emotions finds a therapeutic outlet in my practice through the repetitive act of intricate needlework. I received my BA in Fashion design at the National institute of Fashion Technology in India and am currently pursuing my masters in Fashion, Body and Garment at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in the United States.
