Xinyi Zhan (b.1997, She/Her) currently lives and studies in
Chicago. Xinyi focuses on narrative films and experimental videos.
Her work attempts to explore the connections between herself,
family, and the surroundings, capturing the surreal moments in
everyday life. Image, in Xinyi’s practice, reconstructs memory,
connects a collective of her vague subconscious world, and
develops into the past with partial revealment. Xinyi received her
BFA from China Academy of Art in 2019 and is currently pursing
her MFA in Film, Video, New media, Animation at SAIC.
