My art practice pairs electronics with materials that react to light, motion, and sound. I use technology to mimic and reproduce my observations of the natural world. In my work, I enjoy collaborating with scientists to explore visual patterns that reflect what can be seen in nature and to grapple with larger themes such as climate change. With this type of work, I’m interested in the points in which electronic systems can mimic natural phenomena as well as when electronics can combine with nature to reveal experiences that aren’t otherwise accessible.
