Artist Statement

Jiaqi Zhang is a Chinese-born interdisciplinary artist who creates interactive installations and gamified experience. Her practice focuses on exploration and conservation of human interaction and engagement in the scope of the ever-changing social dynamics, with the assist of technology as a mean of communication with the audience. Through the integration of various mediums such as experimental games, interactive installations, and kinetic sculptures, with playfulness and humor, she seeks to investigate a wide range of curiosities in the areas of social cognition and behavior, with a particular focus on person sensory perception, emotion experience, and collective intelligence.
Jiaqi’s artworks have been exhibited at venues including L.A.S.T Festival at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory (San Francisco, CA), SITE Gallery (Chicago, IL), Lithium Gallery (Chicago, IL) and Yoonarte Gallery (Shanghai, China).
