About SITE Galleries<\/b><\/h6>\n

SITE Galleries is a student-run organization dedicated to the exhibition of student-made artwork, and functions as a hub for individuals from every part of the institution to converge around ambitious development of artistic, conceptual, and professional practices. The SITE team is led by 5 student directors who work closely with artists, gallery assistants, professional staff, and the wider SAIC community to select and facilitate 10 exhibitions each school year. SITE exists to reflect, interrogate, and elaborate the myriad aesthetic, social, and philosophical concerns of the SAIC student body – and serve as a platform for meaningful exchange.<\/span><\/p>\n

Work at SITE Galleries!<\/span><\/h3>\nSITE is hiring a Documenter for the 2020 Fall Semester!\n\nApply through SAIC Handshake<\/a>\n\n \n\nAbout SITE Galleries<\/b>\n\nSITE Galleries is a student-run organization dedicated to the exhibition of student-made artwork, and functions as a hub for individuals from every part of the institution to converge around ambitious development of artistic, conceptual, and professional practices. The SITE team is lead by 5 student directors who work closely with artists, gallery assistants, professional staff, and the wider SAIC community to select and facilitate 10 exhibitions each school year. SITE exists to reflect, interrogate, and elaborate the myriad aesthetic, social, and philosophical concerns of the SAIC student body as a platform for meaningful exchange.<\/span>\n\nThe SITE Documenter is a student support staff position at SITE Galleries. This position is responsible for photo documentation of SITE\u2019s five exhibitions each semester in our Sharp & Columbus Galleries.  <\/span>\n\nPay: <\/b>$14.00 an hour \/ 10 hours per week<\/span>\n\nResponsibilities include:<\/b>\n
    \n \t
  • Working closely with SITE\u2019s Marketing & Communications Director, Archivist, Graphic Designer and exhibiting artists<\/span><\/li>\n \t
  • Determining how best to capture artwork in the exhibition for both promotional and archival purposes<\/span><\/li>\n \t
  • Taking photo documentation on campus of SITE exhibitions and programs <\/span><\/li>\n \t
  • Post production editing of images<\/span><\/li>\n \t
  • Uploading images to the SITE Google Drive<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\nSkills and Qualifications:<\/b>\n
      \n \t
    • Photography experience and comfortability with various camera and lighting equipment<\/span><\/li>\n \t
    • Experience with post production editing in Adobe Photoshop<\/span><\/li>\n \t
    • Artwork, exhibition or performance documentation experience preferred<\/span><\/li>\n \t
    • Video documentation and editing experience not required, but considered a plus <\/span><\/li>\n \t
    • Strong organizational skills and ability to work with overlapping deadlines<\/span><\/li>\n \t
    • Enthusiasm for working collaboratively <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\nWork Location:<\/b>\n\nThis position requires that one  come to campus to photograph 5 exhibitions and programs during the fall semester. These dates will be scheduled in advance and will occur between Sept. 2nd and Nov. 20th.  When taking exhibition photographs it can be arranged so that the Documenter is alone in the gallery during closed hours. SITE programs will be documented in the gallery but shared virtually; during these scheduled days on campus only SITE staff and artists would be present in the galleries.  Planning meetings and post production work will be done virtually and can happen remotely. <\/span>\n\nEligibility<\/b>\n\nAll student staff must be enrolled in six credit hours for the fall semester, and remain in good standing during the term of employment.
