This exhibition presents a new body of work by Beatriz Santiago Mu\u00f1oz (SAIC MFA 1997), whose projects often arise out of long periods of observation and documentation, in which the camera is present as an object with social implications and as an instrument mediating aesthetic thought. Safehouse presents film, video, and objects concerning the sensorial unconscious of the Puerto Rican anticolonial movement which was based, in part, in Chicago. The works are informed by the ideas, images and objects of the movement, it experiments and expands from these materials in order to sensorially reformulate this history.<\/div>\n
